Vogelsang Improvisations 2022

This stereo composition is composed of field recordings made in the abandoned town of Vogelsang, north of Berlin. Because the town is in such an advanced state of decay, the relentless force of nature, over time, seemed especially present to me while making the field recordings. The three primary sounds heard are two trees banging against eachother in the wind, eliciting low, rhythmic percussive sounds, bookshelves that I used a double bass bow to “play” and a metal pipe found in a decaying theater that yielded dense harmonies.
